UKRAINE: Ukraine implements 32% duty on Russian car imports
Media reports in Russia and Ukraine suggest that Ukraine has implemented a 32% duty on the import of Russian cars. Sources say that the Russian government will is considering its response to the move and awaiting official complaints from penalised Russian carmakers.
Media reports in Russia and Ukraine suggest that Ukraine has implemented a 32% duty on the import of Russian cars. Sources say that the Russian government will is considering its response to the move and awaiting official complaints from penalised Russian carmakers.
Russia now exports around 70,000 cars a year to Ukraine.
It is reported that the duty is being introduced for a four month period at the request of two Ukrainian car producers: the Lutsk auto plant and Ukrainian-South Korean car manufacturer AvtoZAZ-Daewoo.
