Ukrainian car producer AvtoZAZ will reportedly invest around US$130m and produce new compact models at its plant in Warsaw, reported Reuters.

The news agency cited a report in Polish daily Rzeczpospolita, saying that AvtoZAZ’s new vehicles, including a model by General Motors’ Chevrolet and China’s Chery QQ, could be produced and launched in Central European markets. The company purchased the Warsaw base from carmaker FSO last year, and now imports the bulk of FSO’s output back into the Ukraine.

AvtoZAZ chief Tariel Wasadze reportedly said: “At least 150,000 cars per year will be produced (in Poland).”
