Volvo in the UK has unveiled plans to give its UK dealers a new look that stresses the company’s Scandinavian heritage. The appearance shares much with the simple and solid elegance and clean lines associated with Swedish interiors, furniture designer and retailer IKEA.
Two UK dealerships first to install new-look: Edinburgh, Basingstoke
Volvo says that it is introducing the new interior design and feel for its showrooms to reflect its Swedish style. Introducing the new-look to all Volvo dealers around the world is a global task expected to take up to four years, but two of the first dealers are in the UK – in Edinburgh and Basingstoke.
The company claims that the new interior design builds on the ‘design language’ presented on Volvo stands at international motor shows to give a fresh, modern approach that emphasises Volvo’s Scandinavian heritage, style and brand values.
But Volvo says the new design is more than just a new-look: “It’s been created to enhance the experience and service our customers receive,” said Nick Connor, network and ownership director at Volvo Car UK. “It projects our premium brand status in a uniquely Volvo way, and builds on the latest designs introduced in our cars,” he added.
