The latest additions to the Vauxhall range make the model line-up more stylish, fun and practical.

The Vauxhall Astra Coupe is the latest dynamic addition, designed to combine style with performance and practicality. Built by Bertone in a new factory in Italy, the Astra Coupe comes with two new ECOTEC engines in 2.2 litre 16v and 2.0 turbo versions as well as the existing 1.8 16v. Inside there is plenty of space for four adults, while the new coupe also boasts the same boot space as the Astra saloon. Astra Coupe goes on sale in July.

March also saw the launch of the Vauxhall Agila, the first European model in the expanding mini-people carrier (MPC) segment. Two lively and economical ECOTEC multi-valve petrol engines are used in either 1.0 or 1.2 litre sizes in the Agila, which combines fun with functionality with its compact exterior and spacious interior.

Agila is one of the best equipped cars in the mini car segment with high levels of safety and driver convenience features and comes with a 12 year anti-perforation warranty. The Agila goes on sale in June.

Vectra, once again, was the best-selling car in its sector in March. Overall Vauxhall’s market share for the first quarter of 2000 was 13.7 per cent, an increase on its market share over the same period last year.

VAUXHALL CONTRACTS KEEP COMING

Manchester based industrial products distributor BSL, with a fleet of over 400 vehicles, has selected Vauxhall to supply up to 200 Vectras, Astras and Combo vans as part of an 18 month contract.
