Volkswagen group premium brand Bentley said it bounced back to pre-recession levels of demand during 2011, with strong growth in all major markets.
Worldwide sales rose 37% year on year to 7,003 with sales accelerating as the year progressed. December sales were up 69% to 1,059, the best month since a pre-recession record in 2007 and the second best month ever.
The US remained the top market with sales up 32% to 2,021. China is now second with sales virtually doubling to 1,839.
Continental European sales rebounded 53% to 1,187 led by Germany, up 88%.
“The UK proved to be extremely challenging over the past months,” the automaker said, adding that sales inched up 5% to 1,031 cars.
The company is launching new V8 Continental models in 2012.
