The automaker has agreed to share the principles of its Toyota Production System, used to improve factory efficiency and vehicle reliability, with the country’s National Health Service and has hosted a visit to its Derbyshire plant.
It follows similar US schemes where healthcare professionals have learnt lessons from the Toyota Motor Company’s production line.
Toyota GB press and public affairs general manager Scott Brownlee told just-auto: “Toyota believes in empowering people at every level, and although vehicle production is completely different to health care, the principles can be applied across.”
