Suzuki has switched European Wagon R+ production from Hungary to the Gliwice plant in Poland that produces the near-identical Opel/Vauxhall Agila.

Rather than having its own 1.3-litre engine and automatic transmission option, the Polish-made version shares the GM model line’s 1.2-litre engine and comes only with manual transmission. UK-market GL specification has added air conditioning at no extra cost.

Meanwhile, the Hungarian Magyar Suzuki plant has begun building three-door versions of the newly launched redesigned Swift.
