Ricardo and Blackpool-based sports car manufacturer TVR have signed a heads of agreement for the powertrain specialist to develop the TVR Speed Six engine to Euro 5 (LEVII) compliance.
The two firms expect the project will take about 18 months. It’s part of Russian-owned TVR’s plan to expand its markets internationally with all necessary type-approval standards.
TVR Motors Company chairman Nikolai Smolenski said: “My intention is to expand the sales and distribution of TVR cars throughout Europe, the rest of the world and USA markets is a key part of the business strategy of the company. Our alliance with Ricardo allows us to advance our technical capabilities to achieve our aims at an accelerated rate.”
