Proton is claiming to be the first car manufacturer in the UK to offer a full five-year warranty on all models sold from 1 January 2001.

The two-year ‘dealer warranty’ extension to the Malaysian manufacturer’s standard three-year warranty is available through all UK Proton retailers and is in addition to six-year powertrain and bodywork warranties and three years’ RAC breakdown service and recovery membership.
