Peter Wyhinny will become the new Managing Director of SEAT UK, following the decision from Kevin James to leave the position after five years.
Kevin James, who has worked for the Volkswagen Group for 21 years, has decided he needs a fresh new challenge and will leave the company on 31st July. Peter Wyhinny is currently Managing Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and will officially head-up the Spanish brand from 1st August. However, he commences working with SEAT from 2nd May.
Peter Wyhinny said: “I am really looking forward to joining SEAT UK and taking the brand forwards,’ said Peter. ‘It is an exciting and dynamic marque, producing sporty cars whose image is reinforced by a successful motorsport programme, in both the British and World Touring Car Championships. And there is more to come from SEAT in the next few months, with important new model launches such as the eagerly-awaited Leon FR.”
Kevin James said: “I have been extremely lucky working for the Volkswagen Group, as I have been able to move every three years or so to a totally new and challenging discipline, which provided me with a completely new experience. After running SEAT for five years, I feel that I need the challenge of a brand new role. As I don’t wish to run another car brand or go abroad with the Volkswagen Group, my decision to leave the company is a simple one.”
