Peter Kinnaird has been appointed managing director of Subaru (UK) Limited and Isuzu (UK) Limited as part of a major restructuring of West Bromwich-based independent vehicle importer IM Group Limited.


Kinnaird succeeds former Subaru and Isuzu MD Sam Burton who is soon to join Mondial Assistance (UK) Limited.


Kinnaird, 52, has been with IM Group for five years, holding the titles of director, overseas operations and director, business Development. He has previously worked for BMW, Alfa Romeo, Daihatsu and Land Rover.


Other changes include the promotion of Andrew Edmiston to managing director of IM Group. Edmiston –the son of the Group’s owner, Bob Edmiston – will also hold the title of chairman of Daihatsu Vehicle Distributors Limited. He is currently managing director, a post which will now be held by Paul Tunnicliffe who was formerly marketing director.


Ed Swatman – a 19 year veteran with the company – will continue as CEO of International Motors Limited but will progressively hand over day-to-day control of Subaru and Isuzu to Kinnaird.
