Two significant joint venture agreements announced by Bosal has created Europe’s largest producer of original equipment and aftermarket towbar systems.
The announcement of a joint venture agreement with ORIS, a towbar systems producer in Germany, is a significant move in Bosal’s strategy of becoming the market leader in the growing European towbar market. The company has also announced the creation of another joint venture in Russia with Autoflex to further strengthen Bosal’s market position in the fast growing Russian and central European markets.
The new Bosal-ORIS joint venture will seek to maximise benefits to existing and future customers through increased economies of scale and a commitment to innovation, technology and quality of service.
Autoflex Russia currently produces 35,000 towbars annually and in the first phase of the joint venture the two companies will work closely together to maximise the performance of the existing Autoflex plant in Novoorsk and consolidate operational synergies. The second phase, expected to commence before the end of this year, will see the construction of a new 10,000 m2 towbar manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Moscow.
Bosal’s commitment to expanding their towbar presence across Europe dates back to 2004 after the company signed a joint venture with Autoflex in Hungary, this was followed in 2005 when Bosal acquired the Hungarian towball manufacturer Technik Flex.
