Around 850 agency workers are to lose their jobs at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
The workers – IT and engineering staff – have been told their jobs will go by the end of the year.
The firm said global car market conditions were severe and “it had to take responsible and rapid action for the challenging environment it faces”.
It has previously announced that 600 jobs would go in a voluntary redundancy scheme and is said to be lobbying the UK government for a large bridging loan to help it through a tough period.
