Britain’s first independent specialist service centre established to service Citroens under the forthcoming new European block exemption rules has opened in Cardiff, Wales.
The new Citroen Service Centre is claimed to be a first for Cardiff, and a first for the United Kingdom.
The new European legislation ends car makers’ domination of service through franchised dealers and has paved the way for independent non-franchise operations to open service and repair workshops which the makers must deal with.
The new block exemption rules, which take effect in October, have allowed Jacksons Cars Limited, which has been established as a full Citroen dealer in Bridgend since 1993, to set up a specialist aftersales centre to cater for existing customers in state of the art premises located in the heart of Cardiff’s retail motor area.
The service centre offers all the facilities of a main dealer aftersales department and is workshop is headed by an experienced manager with a team of fully trained and experienced technicians, led by a Citroen-trained consultant technician.
