Honda is set to strengthen its automobile sales and distribution organisation in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Some existing independent distributors will also become retail operations.
A complete re-organisation will take place to increase significantly the effectiveness of Honda’s business, by better use of resources within its Nordic and Baltic operations.
The new organisation will comprise:
Honda’s second European car plant, located alongside the existing plant at Swindon UK, will start production in the summer of 2001. The combined manufacturing capacity of the two plants will be 250,000 per annum and this is expected to be achieved by the financial year ending 31st March 2003.
In October 1999 Honda started the re-organisation of its European operations, with the creation of three regions, to increase the effectiveness of its business and to make better use of the resources within its operations.
