Honda (UK) has axed the last US-built model from its range. The slow-selling Civic coupe, a rare sight on UK roads, has gone in a range rationalisation that included the launch of a top-specification hybrid sedan – built in Japan – and the addition of a couple of Swindon-built Civic sports derivatives. Honda has also dropped the Japanese-built 1.7-litre Civic-based Stream minivan and a couple of variants of the ageing HRV SUV line that industry rumour suggests could soon be replaced by the designed-for-US Element.

At one time Honda (UK) imported the Accord wagon and coupe from the US as well as the Civic coupe. The wagon disappeared off price lists some years ago and coupe imports stopped with the recent Accord redesign.
