Smart
car drivers can take their car across the English Channel for up to half-price
on Hoverspeed’s high-speed car ferries, it was announced today. The initiative
capitalises on the Smart car’s diminutive size and exceptionally small footprint.
Walter Scherg, General Manager, Smart said: "Smart is an exciting and
innovative concept, combining safety, practicality and leading edge style in
a value for money package. This is the first of a number of special ‘mobility’
contracts we are hoping to negotiate. We want smart customers to get preferential
rates for car parking, at hotels and car wash facilities, making smart an even
more rational and cost effective proposition for consumers."
