Chrysler has named Simon Elliott as the new managing director of Chrysler UK, returning him to a post he held until early 2006 under DaimlerChrysler’s ownership.
Elliot is responsible for all operational activities in the UK. He had been interim managing director since former MD Peter Lambert stepped down on 1 November when Daimler and Chrysler formally separated here in the UK.
From March 2006, Elliott was president and CEO of Chrysler China, where sales increased 13% in 2007 and he was voted ‘CEO of the Year’ at the recent China Imported Automobile Top List Awards.
“Simon’s experience in sales, marketing, dealer network development and more recently joint venture operations in China, is a real asset for our company and we will definitely leverage this experience in the UK, our third largest market outside of North America,” said Michael Manley, Chrysler’s head of international sales, marketing and business development.
Elliott joined Chrysler in 2000 and has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry.
