Ford has today announced an outstanding package of new benefits aimed at providing enhanced value for retail customers in the United Kingdom and which is intended to bring clarity and stability to the marketplace.
Effective immediately, Ford has introduced significant reductions in recommended retail prices (RRP) for the majority of its new car models. These RRP reductions range from 5% to 13.1%.
For example, the 1.7 Ford Puma, currently priced at a recommended on-the-road price of £14,955 will be reduced by £1,960 (or 13.1 %) to a recommended on-the-road price of £12,995. The Ford Focus five-door 1.6 Zetec – the United Kingdom’s best-selling car – will be reduced by £1,505 (or 11.1%) from its previous recommended on-the-road price of £13,500 to a new recommended on-the-road price of £11,995. Delivery charges on all new Ford cars, previously listed as a separate item, will now be included in the RRP.
In addition, a new three-year/60,000-mile warranty will be provided on all new Ford cars* supplied by Ford Motor Company Limited, underlining Ford’s continuing commitment to enhanced customer satisfaction and its aim to become the world’s leading consumer company providing automotive products and services. The warranty consists of one year’s manufacturer’s unlimited warranty, plus two years’ no-fee optional extended warranty. Retail customers who purchased new Ford cars in September will not be disadvantaged by these changes. The three-year warranty on all new Ford cars will be backdated to September 1, 2000. If the RRP in September, less Cashback, is higher than the new RRP in October, Ford will reimburse the customer the difference between the two. These conditions apply to all new Ford cars purchased through an authorised Ford dealership in the UK during September and supplied by Ford Motor Company Limited.
In recognition of the changing marketplace, Ford will announce a new on-line service in the next few weeks which will enable customers to purchase new Ford cars over the Internet. On-line consumers will be able to buy direct from Ford whilst taking delivery of their new cars through Ford’s extensive dealer network. Further details of the new on-line service, which is called Fordjourney.com, will be announced at the British International Motor Show on October 17.
Chairman and Managing Director of Ford in the UK, Ian McAllister said: ” The Cashback offers for retail customers which we introduced at the start of July have been a great success. These new measures build upon this success by providing our customers with outstanding value for money. At the same time, they establish clarity and stability for the new car buyer.
