Daihatsu’s UK importer is recalling over 15,000 Hijet light commercial vehicles for inspection and possible repair.

The programme covers all 1.0-, 1.2-, 1.3-litre and 4WD variants and could take two hours to fix.

Dealers will inspect the integrity of the front hub and spindle assembly, following concerns over long-term durability.

If required, the entire front hub, spindle bearing and seals will be replaced free of charge.

There have been no reported accidents or injuries as a result of the defects.
