In a fax to just-auto, Daewoo Motor KFT (DMK) – the Hungarian office of Daewoo Motor Co. Ltd – has withdrawn all threat of legal action against just-auto and its correspondent, Ryan Tutak. DMK objected to the comments attributed to DMK employees in an article written for just-auto by Tutak, who is just-auto’s Associate Editor for Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. DMK threatened to sue just-auto and Tutak unless the article was withdrawn or corrected for ‘falsehoods’ within 48 hours. stood by the original transcript of the interviews given to Tutak and offered DMK the right to a response to be published on the just-auto site. DMK declined to make a response and a DMK communication received at the just-auto offices by fax on Tuesday afternoon confirms that there will be no follow-up response by DMK and that all ‘legal activities’ are withdrawn.
