Xavier Duchemin, managing director of Citroën UK, has been appointed global marketing and communications director for Citroën worldwide and will take up the Paris-based position in June.
Chief amongst his responsibilities will be the recently ‘reinvented’ brand and overseeing the deployment of the new identity (the famous chevron logo was recently redesigned), customer relationship and business to business model, and new product lines which include the soon to be launched up market DS range.
Duchemin, 42, has been with Citroën for about 18 years and UK managing director since 2005. Prior to his UK position he was MD of Citroën Austria from 2003 to 2005 and has also held positions in sales, marketing, replacement parts and human resources in several European countries.
He succeeds Xavier Chardon who has been appointed managing director for France. A new UK managing director will be named soon.
Duchemin said: “These are exciting times for Citroën and I am very much looking forward to the challenges of building on the brand’s recent reinvention and taking my UK experiences to a more global platform.”
