The Rover brand name belongs to BMW, but the Chinese reportedly believe they can secure the rights to call the Shanghai-built cars Rovers.
The Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry told the BBC the Chinese have already approached Rover component suppliers looking to buy parts to build the 75 in China.
