General Motors’ UK operation is dealing with the branding issues surrounding the change from Daewoo to Chevrolet with an unusual offer: buy a new Daewoo between now and 15 November and it will be exchanged with the equivalent model Chevrolet in six months time – free of charge.

Chevrolet will also ‘restart the clock’ on the three-years free service, three-year warranty, and three-year roadside assistance package.

However, the offer applies only to some Daewoo models – not the popular Matiz and Nubira – with an option to upgrade when ordering the exchange vehicle. A colour change or a derivative upgrade, even to a different model in the range, is possible – on a derivative or model upgrade the customer would pay the difference.

Chevrolets will be in UK showrooms from 1 January 2005 and will replace the current Daewoo brand in the UK. The existing Daewoo retail network will be rebranded Chevrolet and this new network will look after Daewoo customer service, warranty and parts supply.
