Crewe-based Volkswagen Group-owned Bentley Motors said year to date sales to the end of September were up 25% to 5,969 cars versus 4,759 at the same point in 2011.

Sales continued to grow in every region with the Americas remaining the largest global market with deliveries up 29% to 1,750.  China deliveries were up 26% to 1,525.

Sales and marketing chief Kevin Rose said: “With a 25% year on year increase in sales we are maintaining our objective of strong double digit growth in 2012. We are continuing to see significant expansion in all of our global regions and remain the market leader amongst our direct competitors.

“Sales have been driven by new model introductions including the Continental GT and GTC V8. In addition we have seen a very robust performance from our four door vehicles with Mulsanne deliveries up by over 15% and Flying Spur sales up by 5%.”

In Europe customer deliveries were up by 20% to 950 cars and home market UK sales rose 10% to 854.

Elsewhere deliveries increased 43% in the Middle East (531); 35% in Asia Pacific (229) and 69% in Japan (130).
