Land Rover has named its new LRX concept-based model the Range Rover Evoque.
The so-called ‘coupé’ goes on sale next summer after a September Paris show debut. It will be the smallest, lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced with a choice of 4WD and 2WD versions, the latter with sub-130g/km CO2 emissions, for the first time in the brand’s history.
“Its sporting looks and unique qualities will open the brand to a new group of customers who may not have considered a Range Rover product before, said LR MD Philip Popham.
The Evoque will be built at the firm’s Halewood plant, which also makes the Freelander, creating 1,000 new jobs.
It will be sold in 160 countries.
