New UK Ssangyong importer Koelliker UK has recruited another former Kia executive to a senior role.


Newly appointed marketing director Nigel Unwin was previously events, promotions and sponsorship manager at Kia Motors UK. Unwin reports to Koelliker managing director, Paul Williams, who is a former managing director of Kia UK.


Unwin’s responsibilities for the relaunch of SsangYong here include advertising, sales promotions, sponsorship, incentive programmes, external events and exhibitions.


He joined Kia four years ago and was part of the launch team for the new Ceed, Cerato, Sportage and Picanto models. He was also involved in Kia’s rugby sponsorship and the 2006 World Cup and Davis Cup, and for exhibitions, incentive campaigns, conferences and national and international events.


Prior to joining Kia, Unwin was head of marketing at GM Daewoo having previously held the post of head of marketing services and events with former importer Daewoo Cars. He was part of the original team that launched the brand in the UK in 1995.
