Russia’s largest truck maker Kamaz plans to expand its presence in the Middle East and Northern Africa.
In 2006, Kamaz produced 42,000 vehicles and exported 15,000 of that total, with exports to Arab countries of 1,000 army vehicles, an ITAR-TASS report said.
Kamaz supplies vehicles to the countries of the Persian Gulf as well as to Algeria, Syria, Egypt and Sudan.
Kamaz operates a service center in Kuwait, two service centers in Sudan and plans to establish sales and service outlets in the United Arab Emirates.
