Hyundai has signed a deal with Turkish contract manufacturer Karsan to produce light commercial vehicles for the European market.

The South Korean company said the LCVs would be tailored to European requirements and assembled from CKD kits. Production will start in late 2014 and the model range will inlcude trucks, vans and medium size minibuses.

Building on a regional base in Turkey, the carmaker plans to steadily develop more LCV production bases around the world including China and the US. It aims to achieve sales of 400,000 units worldwide by 2020.
