Ford’s Turkish operation it to suspend production for over three weeks after domestic and export demand slumped.


Ford Otosan, a joint venture with local conglomerate Koc Holding, and the sole global source of the Transit Connect small van, is stopping production from 20 December to 12 January at its Kocaeli and Inonu factories.


Renault, Toyota, Hyundai and Fiat models are also built in Turkey, primarily for export, and production halved to 59,082 units with passenger car output off 54% in November, according to Reuters.
