Data from Turkey’s Automotive Dealers’ Association show that car sales reached 50,117 units in the first eight months of 2002, up 6.7% on the same period last year.

Commercial vehicle sales totalled 34,468 in January to August 2002, up 174.9% on the same period of last year.

Turkey’s vehicle market is recovering from a low base following its precipitous decline in 2001 in the face of the country’s severe economic problems.
