Passenger car sales in Turkey dropped sharply over last year in October as the market felt the effects of economic slowdown.

October sales of passenger cars in the domestic market declined by 39.2% over last year to 21,196 units according to the data of Automotive Distributors’ Association (ODD).

In the first ten months of the year car sales were up by 2.7% to 262,918 units. Sales of commercial vehicles in the same period, however, dropped by 6.7% over last year to 162,774 units.
