The Turkish operations of Fiat and Renault have followed Ford Otosan by halting production for about three weeks, citing falling demand.
A company source told Reuters on Thursday that the Oyak Renault JV would gradually halt car production from today (18 December) and resume output in stages from 12 January.
The source also said output of gearboxes and chassis parts would also be suspended from today and restart gradually from 5 January.
Another source said Tofas, which makes Fiats, would suspend production from 27 December to 12 January.
Ford Otosan said earlier it would stop production for over three weeks from 20 December.
