Toyota will provide its hydrogen fuel cell technology to Caetanobus in Portugal.
In line with its vision for a decarbonised society, as set out in the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050,Toyota is promoting the use of its hydrogen fuel cell technology beyond cars to a wider range of vehicles, including heavy duty trucks, delivery vans, forklifts and buses.

In Europe, Toyota will supply its fuel cell systems, including fuel cell stacks, hydrogen tanks and other key components to the renowned Portuguese bus engineering and production company Caetanobus, for the production of hydrogen fuel cell city buses.
The first zero emission fuel cell city buses will roll off Caetanobus’ production line in a little over a year’s time and will be used by the company as demonstration vehicles.

These benefits allow them to operate on longer routes and enjoy higher utilisation.”
