Toyota Motor is talking with Aeon Global SCM about new logistics ideas.
The plan is to further integrate Aeon’s retail logistics expertise with Toyota’s Production System (TPS) and connected and electrification technology.
The two companies will work to develop products to deal with problems shared in the logistics industry including personnel shortages and achieving carbon neutrality, create mechanisms for raising efficiency throughout the supply chain, and build connected systems.
Earlier, Isuzu Motors, Toyota affiliate Hino Motors and Toyota Motor itself said they had agreed a partnership for commercial vehicles. The three companies would combine Toyota’s CASE technology Isuzu and Hino CV expertise.
The three companies plan to jointly work on the development of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), autonomous driving, and electronic platforms for small trucks.
To promote their partnership, the three were establishing Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation, a company for planning CASE technology and services for CVs.
