Toyota has chosen its Thai unit as a training base for workers throughout the Asia Pacific region, according to the Bangkok Post.

Toyota Motor Thailand’s Samrong plant reportedly will be used to teach Toyota employees from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, India and Taiwan.

The Japanese manufacturer last month (3 July) created Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Thailand (TMAP Thailand) to support its production operations in the Asia Pacific region, and will now train workers further in stamping, welding, painting, resin, logistics, assembly, quality control and maintenance.

Toyota spokesmen in Japan and Thailand were not available for comment.
