Tata has sold its first vehicle in Thailand. The Xenon – a one-ton pickup – will be sold through a twenty-dealership network in Thailand.
Distributor Tate Motors (Thailand) Ltd. is a JV 70%-owned by Tata with Thonburi Automotive Assembly Plant holding the remainder.
“We are hopeful that Thailand and the Asean region will become key markets for Tata Motors in the near future,” said company Chairman Ratan Tata.
Tata has invested in an assembly facility for the new pickup truck. Half of the vehicle’s parts will be initially sourced from suppliers in Thailand, a Tata statement said.
