New vehicle sales in Thailand increased by 42.5% to 77,213 units in February, from 54,175 units a year earlier, according to data released by Toyota Motor Thailand. This brings the cumulative, two-month total to 139,611 units – up by 34.6% from the 103,735 units sold a year earlier.
Passenger car sales rose by almost 50% to 33,506 units in February, helped by strong demand for new low cost passenger car models. Pickup truck sales rose by just over 37% to 37,702 units.
Toyota, the country’s best selling brand, reported a sales increase of over 42% to 30,542 units last month; followed by Isuzu with a 22% rise to 14,713 units; and Honda with 9,896 units (+26%).
