Nissan and Mitsubishi say both companies have agreed to manufacture the current generation Nissan Navara, a one-ton pick-up truck, at Mitsubishi Motors‘ plant in the Laem Chabang Industrial Estate in Thailand.
Production under the deal is scheduled to commence in 2012.
This new production is part of an agreement signed in December 2010 to expand the scope of cooperation between the two companies.
It follows an announcement last month concerning the establishment of the joint venture NMKV to develop both operations’ minicar business in Japan.
