The Thai News Service reports that Mitsubishi Motors will increase the number of pickup trucks it produces in Thailand to 200,000 a year.
Mitsubishi Motors has two assembly plants in Thailand. The first produces 180,000 units a year and the second produces 120,000 units a year. Mitsubishi plans to expand production at the second plant to 140,000 units a year by 2007. Many of the pickup trucks produced there will be exported.
The company is also studying the possibility of building a new plant to replace the first one, the report added.
