Boosted by the first shipments of the redesigned Triton/L200 pickup truck, Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) said it set a monthly export volume with 37,062 built-up units in March 2015.
Morikazu Chokki, President & CEO of MMTh said: “When in 1988, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation decided to invest in vehicle manufacturing in Thailand, it also became the first automaker to export Thai-made vehicles worldwide with a first shipment of 420 Lancer Champs to Canada.”
He added: “For 28 years, MMTh has exported Mitsubishi Motors vehicles to more than 150 countries worldwide, where the Thai production standard and technical skills have been accepted and trusted.
“Today, we have three production plants and one engine plant in Leam Chabang Industrial Estate, which are the most important operation and production hubs outside of Japan, with a maximum annual capacity of 510,000 units.”
The L200 will be launched in Europe later this year.
