Mitsubishi Motors has started full production of the new Mirage “global compact car” at its Laem Chabang plant in Thailand.

The car is being produced at a new third factory at Laem Chabang; the largest MMC plant and export hub outside of Japan. The Mirage went on sale on 28 March in Thailand, and will be followed by other ASEAN countries, Japan, Europe, then expand to other markets successively. The Mirage will go to the Japanese market this summer, joining the also Thai-made Nissan Micra.
