GM will start production of the Chevrolet Cruze, a model developed jointly with Suzuki, at GM Thailand in 2003 but will launch the model in Thailand as a Suzuki.
The model is also scheduled for launch in other ASEAN nations but GM has not said under which brand.
GM Thailand produces the Opel-designed Zafira, which is sold in Japan as the Subaru Traviq by Fuji Heavy Industries and across Asia and Australasia with Chevrolet and Holden badges.
GM plans to expand sales in Thailand where volume is still low and will also widen the range it produces locally beyond the Cruze.
