Continental Tyres is targeting a growing share of Thailand’s tyre market with plans to double its retail network to 300 outlets his year.
Around 80% of its tyres sold in Thailand are imported from its plant in Malaysia, the remainder come from Germany.
The company expects the local car and truck tyre market to reach 8m sales this year, up by 3-4% on last year, reflecting rising vehicle production in the country.
The company targets the high end of the market, and will launch the low noise, low-rolling resistant ContiMaxContact MC5 tyre later this year.
