Mitsubishi Motors expects vehicle output in Thailand to decline by 30,000 to 35,000 units if its local plants remain idled throughout November due to the widespread flooding in the country, company officials said.
Although the company’s facilities have not been directly affected by the flooding, vehicle production including for pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles has been suspended since 20 October due to the parts supply problems, Kyodo News reported.

Thailand is a key source of Mitsubishi’s one-tonne pickup truck lines and other models are widely exported, particularly to Asia-Pacific markets including Australia.
In September, before the floods began shutting car factories, Toyota built about 70,700 vehicles in Thailand, Nissan about 20,000 and Honda about 22,000, Reuters reported.
