Teijin has developed two types of polyethylene-based coated separators with its technology. One is coated with Teijinconex, a heat resistant metaaramid, and the other coated with fluorine based compounds. Teijin currently supplies these for LIBs used in consumer goods but larger production capacity and better cost competitiveness are required to supply the growing EV LIB market.
