Liberty Motors, part of the Swire Group, has taken on the Skoda and Seat franchises in Taiwan, replacing Audi, following Volkswagen Group´s decision to establish a wholly-owned office in the country.
Formosa Automobile Corporation, the previous Skoda distributor, pulled out last year because of limited sales. Liberty said it would open 30 sales and 23 service points for the two brands, which would be introduced to the island in the second half of 2009.
Swire also has the rights to distribute VW cars and commercial vehicles and Kia cars.
