As struggling auto firms cut marketing budgets, exhibiting at auto shows is coming under increasing scrutiny. There have already been a number of high profile pull-outs from January’s Detroit Motor Show.  However, the organisers of the next Geneva Motor Show are boasting that they have a ‘sell-out’ on their hands.

The Geneva show organisers say they are ‘delighted that all of the major automobile manufacturers will be exhibiting in spite of the alarming developments in the industry during the past few weeks’.

The 79th Geneva International Motor Show will welcome visitors from March 5–15, 2009 at GENEVA PALEXPO.

All of the areas for stands have been allocated and the seven exhibition halls are completely filled, plus a further 20 potential exhibitors are to be found on the waiting list, the organisers say.

The leaders of the organising team have developed a new display arrangement for Hall 3. It will be exclusively reserved for exhibitors presenting electric and other alternatively powered vehicles.
