Volvo Trucks’ says vehicle deliveries increased during the first eight months of this year by 47% compared with the corresponding period last year.

In Europe, the increase was 23%, with Germany, the Nordic countries and Central Europe being the prime movers for the sales increase.

During the past year, Volvo Trucks said it had increased production capacity and improved productivity while developing new products such as the Volvo FMX construction model introduced in the spring.

Some 1,000 orders have already been signed in Europe.

“Demand is back, as are production volumes and earnings,” said Volvo Trucks president and CEO Staffan Jufors.
