Volvo Trucks’ deliveries in September rose by 46% to 10,731 trucks, compared with the year-earlier period.
For the third quarter, deliveries were up 44% to 26,439 trucks.
Deliveries in Europe totalled 4,066 trucks in September, up 26% compared with the preceding year. However, the first signs of a moderate slowdown have been noted in parts of Europe recently and Volvo is planning to cut output.
In Eastern Europe, truck deliveries in September rose by 73%. The development on the Russian market remained positive with strong customer interest for Volvos trucks and the number of deliveries in September was up 148% to 394 trucks, compared with September 2010.
High demand also continued in South America and especially in Brazil where Volvo Trucks kept the leading market position in the heavy segment during September.
In total, deliveries in South America rose by 34% to 2,005 trucks in September, compared with the year earlier period. During the third quarter deliveries in South America were up 47% to 6,576 trucks.

By GlobalDataIn other markets, the deliveries in Australia reached 153 trucks in September, which was the highest monthly number since December 2007.
In North America, deliveries in September rose by 151% to 2,709 vehicles compared with September 2010, reflecting continuing strong replacement demand for highway trucks.
Yesterday, AB Volvo reported strong third quarter financial results, though it cautioned that there are uncertainties regarding the global truck market outlook.
